BACKGROUND

My journey in this field began with my fascination with the unique development of the individual across the life span, with special interest in areas of relational and identity formation. This led to me to pursue my Bachelors of Science in Developmental Psychology and Women and Gender Studies. Over the years I volunteered within local Domestic Violence Shelters in the Sacramento and Bay Area, and completed two terms of service through Americorps where I provided services to individuals and families within local Community Resource Centers. My time spent in these positions assisted me in gaining foundational knowledge that healthy societies are built from healthy communities, which start with supporting families and individuals. These years of valuable experience guided me to pursue a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Sonoma State University.

In Sonoma County I dedicated my associateship to working at local psychotherapy clinics where I was able to serve children, youth, adults, and families. I additionally worked at an in-patient psychiatric hospital providing crisis stabilization, psychoeducation and process oriented group therapy. I additionally became proficient and very familiar with providing Telehealth Video Sessions, and was grateful to be able to provide remote services to my clients during the pandemic. This process, though multifaceted, gave me the experience to see how truly effective Telehealth Counseling is and has been foundational for the work that I offer. I am located in Gig Harbor and have enjoyed immersing myself in the beauty and culture that the PNW has to offer. My joy is often derived from being in nature, aquascaping, doing aerial yoga and spending time with the special people of my life.
